Gina Chen
Gina is a Yale-educated, Fulbright-honored dealmaker who has orchestrated more than $10 billion in headline-grabbing M&A and capital-markets transactions at Davis Polk, Paul Weiss, and Mayer Brown—among them Authentic Brands Group's acquisitions of Brooks Brothers and Lucky Brand, plus the $3.9 billion sale of Advanced Accelerator Applications to Novartis, crowned IFLR Europe's "M&A Deal of the Year."
Today she channels that Wall Street rigor into One Ally, the boutique firm she founded to equip ambitious and mission-driven founders with elite, compassion-centered counsel. Her clients have ranged from Fortune 10 companies to trailblazing startups, and have included women and minority-founded private equity and venture capital funds and family-owned businesses.
A lifelong social-impact entrepreneur, Gina co-created Education In Sight, supplying free eye care to students in 330+ rural Chinese schools, and launched Southwest China's first regenerative farm cooperative, helping farmers quadruple their incomes. Hailed as a "25 Under 25 Future Leader to Watch" in U.S.–China relations and a sought-after keynote speaker, pianist-turned-Chinese watercolor-artist, and first-gen college graduate and first-gen immigrant, she proves that high-stakes capital and community-rooted compassion can—and must—rise together.
Thomas Stiebel
Thomas is a seasoned intellectual property attorney, scientist, and business leader with more than 25 years of experience protecting and commercializing innovation across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, chemicals, and consumer products. At Mayer Brown, an Am Law 100 international law firm, he developed global patent, licensing, and litigation strategies for life-sciences companies, advised on infringement, validity, enforceability, FDA Orange Book and Hatch-Waxman matters, and handled IP licensing, strategic alliances, M&A diligence, and pharmaceutical patent litigation. Earlier, as Assistant General Counsel and Patent Scientist at Pfizer/Pharmacia, he managed worldwide patent portfolios for the Celebrex® oncology franchise and NewLeaf™ biotechnology platform and integrated IP strategy with multidisciplinary drug-development teams.
Thomas later became a partner at Quarles & Brady, where he chaired the firm's China Law Group and served as Chief Representative and Managing Partner of its Shanghai office, advising multinational and emerging companies on global IP, technology transactions, cross-border investment, and market-entry strategy. His unusual combination of law, science, international business, and executive leadership has also included co-founding biotechnology and IP ventures and helping grow a specialized IP law firm from nine to 27 attorneys. In 2026, Thomas was appointed to the Panel of Arbitrators of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), one of the world's leading international arbitration institutions, for a five-year term through 2031.
A scientist before becoming an attorney, Thomas conducted pharmaceutical virology research involving HIV, RSV, influenza, and antiviral drug development before earning his J.D. from Northwestern University. Today, he brings that scientific foundation to his work as a Confrères with the University of Chicago's France And Chicago Collaborating in The Sciences (FACCTS) program, where he evaluates pioneering scientific collaborations for seed funding and advises on intellectual property and commercialization. Across the laboratory, boardroom, law firm, and international arena, Thomas has built his career around translating complex science into protected innovation, commercial opportunity, and global growth.
